Islamist militants, Al-Shabaab group has captured at least three villages in the Bay region, KNN reports on Tuesday.
Residents in villages of Daynuuney, Abuurey and Goofgaduud said they saw masked armed militants from al-Shabaab group entering those villages early on Tuesday.
The villages are not far from Baidoa city a home of regional Southwest state officials. Government troops left those villages before the militants entered.
No word from local Somali government officials in the area.
