Mogadishu-KNN-At least 6 dead killed and more injured after Al-Shabab ambushed a convoy of regional officials, witnesses confirmed to radio Kulmiye.
Two MPs of Hirshabele parliament and deputy commissioner of district are among the dead, there is seriously injured government soldiers.
The convoy was contained two vehicles, one of them army vehicle. The insurgents burnt the vehicles.
MP Sheekh Dahir Muqtar Abdulle, MP Eng. Isma’il Muse, Deputy commissioner of Rage Elle district Muse Afweyne and four soldiers were killed.
According to witnesses, the is fear that the death toll may arise.
The Al-Qaida linked group in Somalia of Al-Shabab claims the responsibility of the ambush, saying they have killed at least 15 government officials and took two vehicles.
The is no immediate comment from Hirshabele or federal government of Somalia.
