Car bomb kills 10 in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.

A Car bomb explosion in the Somali capital, Mogadishu leaves at least 10 dead, 20 others injured according to police and witnesses. Police cordoned off the area.

Police say it is yet unclear about the primary target of the attack or whether a suicide bomber was involved in it.

8 civilians and 2 security forces were killed in the attack police said. Up to 20 others most of them, civilians were wounded as several business places were poorly damaged in the blast, he added

Al-shabaab group says, its target was Hotel Wehliye, where it claims that government officials, security members and members of parliamentarians were in a meeting at the time of the attack. The groups claims a suicide bomber was involved in the attack.

Social media photos shot at the scene showed burning debris, crumbled walls and buildings and destroyed cars. There are several other important government compounds near the area, among them, the parliament building.
