Jiggiga–KNN-Hundreds of Ethiopian military with armed vehicles has been deployed to Somali region of Ogadenia by government on Saturday, government officials and witnesses.
The army seized the parliament building and other government offices.
The deployment leads violence and deadly eruptions.
At least two people died and more injured after angry people attacked the army with sticks and stone-throwing, local media reports.
Ahmed Sheekh Mohammed, who is in Jiggiga, Capital of Somali region told Radio Kulmiye that Ethiopian military took over government offices.
Protesters started looting and burned church and businesses centres, Mohamed added.
Idris Isma’il Abdi, information minister of Somali region told BBC Somali service that the department of federal forces in Jiggiga is “illegal and unconstitutional”.
Reports said that power, internet service and water has been cut from Jiggiga by the army.
