In the latest offensive against the al-Shabaab militant group, an airstrike was carried out last night in the Sabale district, located in the Lower Shabelle region of Somalia. This operation specifically targeted high-ranking officers within the group, resulting in the deaths of four foreign fighters who were integral to al-Shabaab’s operations.
The casualties included:
- Ali Farooq, a Yemeni officer known for his expertise in explosives.
- Teacher Daoud, a Tanzanian national who played a key role in planning security operations.
- Saifulah, a media specialist from Kenya.
- Muhsin, from Ivory Coast, who was both an explosives expert and an educator.
This strategic strike is part of ongoing efforts to weaken al-Shabaab’s capabilities and curtail their influence in the region.
