Mogadishu-KNN-A suspected U.S. airstrike has destroyed Al-Shabaab-linked radio station in a remote part of southern Somalia, Somali National news Agency reports.
The state media said that the insurgents’ Radio, Andalus, in Jilib town of Middle Jubba region, was demolished by an air raid which left Al-Shabab journalists working for the station dead.
Somali security officials say the broadcaster was a mobile outfit, which could be moved easily across the areas under the control of extremists, who are fighting to impose the strict Sharia Law and overcome the Federal Government of Somalia.
The names of the journalist killed in the airstrike is yet to identify, SONNA added, saying the attack was leading by the Somali special forces those are continuously enter the main bases of Al-shabaab.
The US military in Africa has carried out the many airstrikes against Al-shabaab, the Al-Qaidda linked terrorist group in Somalia and killed many of insurgents’ fighters. The aerial bombings carried by US drones reached nearly thirty this year.
