Airstrike hits ISIS, Al-shabaab controlled towns in Somalia

Special forces of Somali military backed by Internatinal partners conducted an airstrike against Pro-ISIS militants in Puntland region, state media reports.

The airstrike was targeted at Golis mountains of Bari region and killed 3 ISIS militants, SONNA said they ware officials, but did not mention the specific location of the target.

“Somali commandos and international partners conducted an operation at Golis mountains of Puntland provence and killed 3 ISIS officials,” SONNA reported.

The US Africa command that it carried out an airstrike with Somali partners and killed 3 ISIS militants, adding that there were no civilian casualties.

Another airstrikes were reported from Middle Jubba region, highly controlled by Al-Shabaab.

Witnesses said that Jamame and Bu’ale districts were targeted by unspecified war planes. An official named Hussien is said to heve wounded the airstrike and other militants were killed.

There is no government claimed responsibility, but US and Kenyan governments always conduct air strikes to eliminate Al-Shabaab.

Somali government is also yet to comment these strikes.
