Al-shabaab Threatens Jubaland leader and his rival politicians

Mogadishu-KNN-The shadow governor of Al-shabaab in Jubaland explained groups’ plan over the regional administration, saying that they will target rival elected leaders of Kismayo based federal state.

Sheikh Mohamed Abu Abdallah interviewed by Al-shabaab owned Radio of  Al-Andulus said that the group will fight against three politicians claimed to be president of Jubaland administration, including Ahmed Madobe.

“There are up to three men in Kismayo each of whom is claiming to be Jubbaland’s president. They are led by the Kenya government candidate Ahmed Madobe,” said the Al-Shabaab governor, Sheikh Mohamed Abu Abdallah.

Al-shabaab controls parts of Lower Juba and Gedo regions and completely Middle Juba region. The insurgent group has also ability to conduct attacks against federal government soldiers and AMISOM in Jubaland.

Jubbaland parliament on Thursday, August 22 controversially reelected Ahmed Mohamed Islam Modobe to lead the administration next four years.

Two other politicians named Abdirashid Mohamed Hidig and Abdinasir Seyrar Mah individually claimed they are elected president of Jubaland and that fueled the political turmoil in Kismayo.

Federal government of Somalia refused to recognize any result from Kismayo even reelection of Ahmed Madobe.
