Member of the Parliament Abdullahi Mohamed Aden told Radio Kulmiye that the parliamentary election committee decided to halt ministers running for the Speaker of the People’s house.

“Ministers should resign and bring a copy of their resignation letter” MP Abdullahi said.

Opposing that claims, constitution minister Abdi Hosh Jibril posted on his Facebook account that ministers can run for the post with out resignation.

Saying that he is answering question form his friend Hosh said under article 59 (c), of the Constitution, any member of parliament would automatically lose any other government position with the exception of Cabinet minister once they become members of parliament.
