Puntland Fisheries Minister resigns, cites row with Deni

Puntland Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources Mohamud Salah has resigned citing differences with state president Abdullahi Deni.

A resignation letter from the minister noted that he was leaving office over ‘differences on the management of the ministry’.

It was not immediately clear what nature of disputes  two had which forced the minister to to resign.

 The exit of the minister adds to increasing political run-ins in the Deni administration which have also extended to parliament.

The state assembly last month voted to lift the immunity of eight members of parliament of the immunity amid fall-outs with the government.
