Awdhegle-KNN-Security forces raids Al-shabaab camps in lower Shabele, in one of the normal security operations, regional leaders said two Al-shabaab officials were captured.
The target of the operation was in Awdhegle district where Al-shabaab controls for years, security officials told radio kulmiye that their operation succeeded and captured two Al-shabaab leaders.
Abdi fitah Haji Abdule, deputy Governor of lower Shabele interviewed by Radio kulmiye identified the Al-shabaab operatives as Abdi Karin Abu Hamsa finance officer in lower Shabele and Banadir regions and sheekh Mudey as Amniyat leading officer.
“The latest operations of Somali military force conducted in Awdhegle district, these operations was successful and capture two high level Al-shabab officials” Abdi fitah told KNN.
These operations are a new type which security forces conduct at night, he added.
In recent days the SNA getting help from foreign advisers started operations targeting homes and bases of the insurgent group of Al-shabaab, killing and capturing militant members.
