Somali government repatriated more than 150 migrants from Libya.

Mogadishu-KNN-Federal government of Somalia successfully repatriated Somali immigrants from Libya, after years they were in prison of smugglers and Libyan government.

A plane carrying 154 people landed in Mogadishu international airport with high rank Somali diplomats.

Ambassador Ali Si’id Fiqi, Somali ambassador to EU told the media that the migrants decided to go back to home as they fail to reach Europe countries.

“It took us for long time to get them; they are from deferent prisons in Libya. These youth ware hands of smugglers and pay money and tried to travel to Europe through sea, but Libyan government captured and arrested them” said ambassador Fiqi.

In Libya, more than ten Somali youth dead every month, Fiqi added.

Subeyr Hashi Ahmed, one of the Somali youth from Libya told the media that they have met a large scale physical problem, expressing sadness he said finally they decided to back to home.

“I am happy to back to home; I can’t afford to story what we met in Libya” Subeyr Ahmed sid.

“My brothers were killed by Libyan smugglers using electric, in 24 hours we have been eating one piece of bread” he added.

Somali government already took such step for repatriating Somali citizens from several countries including Ethiopia, India and Libya, getting help from IMO and European Union.
