Somali President Receives new Qatar Ambassador to Somalia

The President of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo received credentials from the new Qatar ambassador to Somalia Hasan Hamsa Asad, officials said.

Qatar government is one of Gulf nations supporting Somalia, following the Gulf crisis which Somalia remained neutral.

Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed thanked the Amir of Qatar and his government their readiness to strengthen the relations between the two governments and hoped that the relations will be fruitful, according to statement released by the Somali presidency.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Hamsa forwarded greetings from the Amir of Qatqar Sheikh Tamiim Binu Hamad and noted that the Ambassador will strengthen relations between the two countries.

 Ambassador Hasan Hamsa Asad is extraordinary ambassador, the first of such Qatar appointes to Somalia.
