Mogadishu-KNN-After six days of consecutive meeting between leaders of federal government and federal member states at Garowe ended with no agreement, according to Ahmed Du’ale Gele, President of Galmudug regional administration.
The Presidents of Puntland, Galmudug, Jubbaland, South-West, Hirshabele, Banadir Governor, Prime Minister Khayre, and President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo were attending the meeting.
The talks of the leaders started the last Sunday and President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo was chairing the meeting. A number of issues was planned to cover the meeting, including resource sharing, petrol law, elections in 2021, and cooperation between federal government and regional administration.
A statement issued by the President of Galmudug Administration says that “Galmudug Administration regrets the failing of leaders’ meeting at Garowe in May 5-10,” Ahmed Gele accused the federal government of Somalia that it refused to respect the issues intended to discuss.
Sources said that the leaders in Garowe will go back to their regional Capitals since there is no further meeting. On the other hand there is no comment from the leaders of the federal government or the hosting State, Puntland Administration.
The six day meeting becomes the longest meeting since the election of President Mohamed Abdullahi farmajo. The two main issues negotiated and caused the differences are laws of elections and petrol.
