Mogadishu-KNN- Heavy gunfire heard in Mogadishu as fighting between government troops erupts, army officials told Radio kulmiye.

The fighting broke in a military compound called Gen. Gordon in which United Arab Emirates used to train Somalia’s military, but its officers left when diplomatic tension between the two countries emerged.

Emirati trained soldiers tried to take weapons, but other government soldiers refused, that caused the fighting, military source told KNN.

Military officials told Radio Kulmiye that there is undefined number of casualties.

Somali government took over all Emirati trained troops and now they are under the control of Somali military command.

Independent source said that Somali military officials attend the training camp of General Gordon to seize military facilities stored in the camp, but commanders of Emirati trained soldiers refused taking weapons that caused the fighting.
