Somalia: UAE military officers withdraws from Somalia

Mogadishu-KNN-Reports out of Somalia’s port town of Bosaso say Emirati military officers have leaved Somalia without their weapons.

Especial Emarati plane landed the Airport in Bosaso to take the Emarat military trainers and their facilities, but security officers requested to check bags and boxes.

The UAE officers refused to check their bags and boxes, KNN reported.

The move comes shortly after Somali authorities seized nearly $10m in cash from a plane from the UAE.

Also today’s development came as federal ministers reached Bosaso for unreleased purpose.

UAE troops have been training their Somali counterparts but tensions between the two governments have grown partly over the UAE’s plans to establish a military base in Somaliland breakaway.
