Somaliland Lifts COVID-19 Restrictions

The Somaliland administration has lifted restrictions imposed due to the Coronavirus outbreak on Tuesday.

A statement from the office of Deputy President Abdirahman Abdullahi Ismail said air travel restrictions have been lifted but the environment was not declared virus-free.

Hargeisa recorded seven new cases in the past 24 hours. Authorities said recommended preventive measures to curb possible spread will be put in place starting from 30th June.

All travelers to the self-declared state in northern Somalia are required to produce the COVID-19 test with negative results done within a period of four days. Schools and other higher learning institutions will be reopened as well.

Out of 2812 cases recorded in Somalia Somaliland has a share of 663 positive results.
